The boiler tubes of power plants of various capacities ranging from 50MW to 660MW are found premature failures due to various regions. Boiler tube failure is a major cause of concern to plant engineers as it leads to many forced outages of the power plants.
Failure causes range from those associated with high temperature to others caused by many other factors like overheating, corrosion, erosion, stress rupture, fatigue etc.
It is extremely important to determine and correct the root cause to get the boiler back in operation and eliminate or reduce the future outages.
In order to evaluate the failure, all aspect of boiler operations leading to the failure either through any metallurgical degradation or any other factors should be investigated to fully understood the root cause of failures.
The program is meant to find the damage mechanism and root cause analysis of failed boiler tubes and other components including various case studies.
